What does ScanDisk do?
ScanDisk, which is also known as SCANDISK, is a useful utility in MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows. It will check a hard drive for file system problems and bad clusters. It is recommended that you use ScanDisk about once a month.
ScanDisk was unveiled in MS-DOS version 6.2. While CHDSK was originally a text-based program, ScanDisk, starting with Windows 95, used a graphical user interface. ScanDisk can usually be found by going through the “Start” menu and selecting “Programs,” “Accessories,” “System Tools” and “ScanDisk.” In some versions of Windows, ScanDisk will start automatically after a system restart where a shutdown was not completed satisfactorily.
While ScanDisk can be a great help, it is not unusual to encounter problems with it. At times, you will find that ScanDisk’s progress will reach about 50 per cent and then it will go back to zero. In other cases you will see such error messages as:
- ScanDisk has restarted
- ScanDisk can’t proceed because Windows (or another program) is writing

I ran another hijackthis scan, and noticed another vujigami.dll file in the report. I knew from previous searches through my hard drive files that this program or file did not actually exist, so i selected it and clicked the "fix checked" and now my problem is gone. wow what a relief. You have been more than helpful with this matter, and I thank you very much for the time that was dedicated to it. I will continue to use the RegCure program on a regular basis and because of your absolute superior customer service, I will recommend you to anyone I know that has problems with their computer. Thank you very much.
