Dealing with ASP errors

ASP (Active Server Pages ) errors are related to the Internet. Also known as Classic ASP or ASP Classic, it was Microsoft’s original server-side script engine that was employed for dynamically-generated web pages. ASP first appeared as an add-on for Internet Information Services in the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack. It became a free part of the Windows Server with the release of the Windows 2000 Server.

Common ASP errors include:

• ASP 0126 – You are trying to include a file that is not on your server
• ASP 0131 – The server is not supporting the reference to a certain folder
• Array Subscript Overflow Error – Check your original definition. Arrays start at zero, so if you want to have 12 items for 12 months, you need to dimension the array to have 13 members as you will not use the zero spot.
• Overflow: ‘cInt’: CInt is a variable number is ASP. It uses numbers between -32,768 and 32,767. If you need more numbers, use Int instead. It can handle numbers between -2,147,483,648 to 2,147,483,647.
• Type Mismatch Error – This occurs when you try to put one type of value into a variable of another type.
• Server Too Busy – Error 500-13: Check your IIS settings, particularly in the “Performance” tab. You can increase the number of hits allowed each day and turn off process and bandwidth throttling.
• The requested resource is in use: This common Windows error message means that something is not up-to-date.
• The HTTP Headers are already written: This error message can pop up frequently. It means that the HTTP headers have already been written to the client browser. You need to make HTTP changes before creating page content.
